Privacy Policy

Proton Enterprises believes that personal privacy is a core civil liberty. This Privacy Policy explains the types of information we collect through www.protonenterprises.com (the “Site”) and how we will use, disclose and plan to protect such information once it is collected. The Site is owned and operated by Proton Enterprises and its affiliates (referred to collectively in this Privacy Policy as “we,” “us,” “our” and other similar pronouns).

 

What information do we collect on the Site?

We collect information from or about Site users concerning use of the Site. We may collect Personal Data that you provide directly to us when you enter certain information on our Site. “Personal Data” means data that allows someone to identify or contact you, including, for example, your name, address, telephone number, e-mail address, as well as any other non-public information about you that is associated with or linked to any of the foregoing data. As is the case with many websites, our servers automatically collect your browser type and IP address when you visit the Site, and we may associate that with your domain name or that of your Internet access provider. In addition, we may capture certain “clickstream data” pertaining to your Site usage. Data captured may include, for example, the referring page that linked you to the Site, the country from which you are conducting your browsing session, the next website you visit when you leave the Site, and any search terms you have entered on the Site or a referral site. We and our service providers may use tracking technologies (e.g., cookies, local shared objects, and pixel tags) and website analytics tools to, among other things, monitor and better understand user behavior on the Site.

  • Cookies are small data files stored on your computer or device at the request of a Web site. We also use cookies-based technology to allow our service provides to remarket or readvertise our Site to users who have visited our Site.

  • Local shared objects, such as “Flash cookies,” may be stored on your computer or device using a media player or other software installed on your computer or device. Local shared objects operate a lot like cookies, but cannot be managed in the same way. Depending on how local shared objects are enabled on your computer or device, you may be able to manage them using software settings.

  • A pixel tag (also known as a “clear GIF” or “web beacon”) is a tiny image – typically just one-pixel – that can be placed on a Web page in order to help us measure the effectiveness of our content by, for example, counting the number of individuals who visit us online or verifying whether you’ve seen one of our Web pages.

  • Analytics Services and Interest-Based Advertising. In addition to the tracking technologies we place, other companies may set their own cookies or similar tools when you visit our Site. This includes third party analytics services, including but not limited to Google Analytics (“Analytics Services”), that we engage to help analyze how users use the Site, as well as third parties that deliver content or offers. We may receive reports based on these parties’ use of these tools on an individual or aggregate basis. We use the information we get from Analytics Services only to improve our Site. The information generated by the Cookies or other technologies about your use of our Site and Services (the “Analytics Information”) is transmitted to the Analytics Services. The Analytics Services use Analytics Information to compile reports on user activity. The Analytics Services may also transfer information to third parties where required to do so by law, or where such third parties process Analytics Information on their behalf. Each Analytics Services’ ability to use and share Analytics Information is restricted by such Analytics Services’ Terms of Use and Privacy Policy. By using our Site, you consent to the processing of data about you by Analytics Services in the manner and for the purposes set out above.

 

How do we use your information?

We may use your information:

  • to respond to your request(s), question(s) and concern(s), to administer the Site and enable users to use the Site and its features, to protect our rights and property;

  • for other purposes disclosed when you submit information to us and in accordance with this Privacy Policy;

  • identify you as a user in our system;

  • provide improved administration of our Site;

  • improve the quality of experience when you interact with our Site;

  • send you an e-mail to verify ownership of the e-mail address provided;

  • send you administrative e-mail notifications, such as security, or support and maintenance advisories;

  • respond to your inquiries related to employment opportunities or other requests;

  • make telephone calls to you, from time to time, as a part of secondary fraud protection or to solicit your feedback; and

  • send newsletters and surveys related to our Services and for other marketing purposes of Company.

In addition, we use the usage information collected about your Site visits, including the pages you view, information you search for, and the average time spent on our Site, on an individual basis or in the aggregate, to better understand our audience and the usage and visitation on our Site and the other sites tracked by these third parties; develop new features, deliver advertising targeted to your interests; and offerings on the Site and improve the functionality and user-friendliness of our Site. We may perform any of the above functions through our service providers.

 

Sharing with Third Parties

We generally do not share information collected about you through the Site. We may, however, share your information (i) with third parties who provide services to us, (ii) as required by law and when we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights or those of third parties, protect your safety or the safety of others, investigate fraud, or comply with a court order or other legal process, (iii) among our affiliates for our business purposes in accordance with this Privacy Policy, or (iv) in connection with a corporate change or dissolution, including a merger, acquisition, sale of assets, reorganization, consolidation, bankruptcy, liquidation or wind down of business. In addition, we may share non-personally identifiable Site usage information (including aggregate data) with others, for their own use, in a form that does not include your name or contact information. The third parties that support our website analytics tools may be able to access and use your Site usage information.

 

Social Media

We maintain presence on several social media platforms, such as Twitter, Medium and LinkedIn, and we also incorporate some third party social media features onto the Site. We also include tools on the Site that allow you to share and/or publicly post content or information from the Site to your profile on a third party social media platform. Third party social media platforms have their own privacy policies which explain how they will use, protect and share your information, including any information you share on those platforms from the Site, and we encourage you to read them.

 

Your Access Rights

If you have an account hosted through an Access-Restricted Website, please refer to the privacy policies and practices of the operators of the Access-Restricted Website available on such Access-Restricted Website to understand your rights to review, update or modify certain of the information that is stored in that account.

 

Links to Third-Party Websites

Our Site may contain links, banners, widgets or advertisements that lead to other websites, including investor portals, personal blogs, tweets, and other social media content written or edited by members of our staff, and these sites or entities may collect your Personal Data. We have no control over, do not review, and are not responsible for these other sites or their content, and so their privacy policies (not this Privacy Policy) will govern the collection and use of your information on them. We encourage you to read the privacy statements of such websites to understand how your information is treated. The links to third party websites or locations are for your convenience and do not signify our endorsement of such third parties or their products, content or websites. Information that you may provide, or that we may obtain, through your access to password-protected websites, such as an investor portal, that you may be able to access by following a hyperlink on the Site (each such other website, an “Access-Restricted Website”), is subject to the privacy policies and practices of the operators of the Access-Restricted Website available on such Access-Restricted Website, which we encourage you to read to learn about the treatment of such information.

 

Do Not Track Disclosures

Some web browsers may transmit “do-not-track” (“DNT”) signals to the websites with which the user communicates. Because of differences in how web browsers incorporate and activate this feature, it is not always clear whether users intend for these signals to be transmitted, or whether they even are aware of them. Our third party service providers, such as our website analytics service provider, may collect information about your online activities over time and across the Site and other online properties. Our service providers may not change their tracking practices in response to DNT settings in your web browser, and we do not obligate them to honor DNT settings. You can opt out of your Site usage information being included in our Google Analytics reports by visiting https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

 

Information Choices and Changes

You may send requests about personal information to our contact information below. You can request to change contact choices, opt-out of our sharing with others, and update your personal information. You can typically remove and reject cookies from our Site with your browser settings. Many browsers are set to accept cookies until you change your settings. If you remove or reject our cookies, it could affect how our Site works for you.

 

A Note About Children

We do not intentionally gather personal information from visitors who are under the age of 13. If a child under 13 submits personal information to us and we learn that the personal information is the information of a child under 13, we will attempt to delete the information as soon as possible.

 

A Note to Users Outside of the United States

If you are a non U.S. user of the Site, by visiting the Site and providing us with data, you acknowledge and agree that your personal information may be processed for the purposes identified in the Privacy Policy. In addition, your personal information may be processed in the country in which it was collected and in other countries, including the United States, where laws regarding processing of personal information may be less stringent than the laws in your country. By providing your data, you consent to such transfer.
